Mayor of Moscow







Born on 21 June 1958 in the village of Nyaksimvol in the Berezovsky district of the Tyumen region.

In 1980 graduated from the Kostroma Technological Institute.

In 1989 - the All-Union Correspondence Institute of Law, Candidate of legal sciences. Began his career in 1980 - worked as a mechanic, then as the supervisor at the Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling Plant.

Since 1982 – the Head of the Organizational Department of the Leninsky Komsomol District of Chelyabinsk.

From 1984 to 1990 – administration of party and soviet work in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area, Tyumen Region.

Since 1991 – the Head of the Kogalim City Administration.

Since 1993 – the Deputy Head of Administration of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area.

Since 1994 – the Chairman of the Duma of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area, the member of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Constitutional Legislation and Judicial Affairs.

Since 2000 – the First Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Ural Federal District.

From 2001 to 2005 - the Governor of the Tyumen region.

From November 2005 – the Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation.

Since 2008 - Deputy Chairman of the Government - Chief of the Russian Government Office.

Since  21 October 2010 - by the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev was endowed by the Moscow City Duma with Moscow Mayor authority for five years.

On 5 June 2013 was appointed as Interim Mayor.

On 8 September 2013 was elected as the Mayor of Moscow for five years. On 12 September 2013 assumed the position of Mayor of Moscow.

Married, with two daughters.
